In Plitvice National Park, nature has created 16 lakes and connected them with amazing travertine waterfalls. The park covers 29,685 hectares, with lakes making up 200 hectares and forests covering the majority of the area. During your visit, you may encounter a variety of species that have lived in the area since before the time of human arrival.
One of the main attractions is the 78-meter-high waterfall known as Veliki Slap, which is the highest waterfall in Croatia. In addition to the guided walks along wooden paths, you’ll enjoy a boat ride across the biggest lake, and also a short train ride.
This tour also includes a photo stop at Željava airbase where you will have an opportunity to see a glimpse into the technological achievements of the 60's of the largest military complex in Europe.
