Pedra da Gavea is the biggest block of solid rock by the sea in the world and, at the top of its 842 meters, you can see the main mountains of the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as Guanabara Bay, Ipanema, Leblon, São Conrado, Barra Tijuca, and the Serra dos Orgaos Region.
Our excursion begins with the passengers pick up from our selected hotels to start the hike, that is one of the most famous and challenging of Rio. It lasts about two and a half hours, is steep and has several natural obstacles that we must overcome. There is a section of basic level rock climbing called Carrasqueira, where previous experience is not necessary and the guide will help the group using all the safety techniques and procedures necessary to carry out the adventure. The descent is made by a similar technique to rappel, but who controls the equipment and the descent is the guide, offering more comfort and safety. You just need to relax, enjoy and take lots of photos.
This hiking tour takes place inside the C sector of Tijuca National Park, which means that we are within the Rio Atlantic Rainforest and that we have great possibilities to find wild animals during the hike. The tour ends with the return to our selected hotels
