Sorrento: A proud resort, Sorrento is nonetheless a sophisticated and beautiful town. Even the souvenirs are a cut above the norm, with plenty of fine old shops selling ceramics, lacework and intarsia (wood inlaying), all famously produced here.

Pompeii: Known as ‘the buried city,’ it used to be the holiday destination of wealthy ancient Romans because of its healthy weather and impressive views. Its archaeological zones, Herculano and the Annunziata tower have all been listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Please note

• On day 1, the pick-up point will be at Destination Italia Sightseeing office on Viale Dei Bastioni di Michelangelo 21, Rome at 07:30 am (Please arrive at the mentioned meeting point at least 15 minutes earlier)
• Only one bag (of any size) per person allowed plus one hand luggage (30kg in total). In case of any extra suitcases, these will have to be communicated in advance before the start of the tour. An additional supplement will be applied for each additional suitcase on the spot
• Please note that local conditions prevalent at the time of travel may result in modifications to the contents of the tour without prior notice, including possible changes of hotels and/or itinerary.
• On day 2, the drop-off in Rome around 09:00 pm at Viale Washington, or Viale Luigi Einaudi, or Termini Station Area, or Via Ludovisi

• In many hotels in Italy, the triple rooms are a double room with an additional bed or sofa bed. Their comfort conditions are lower than the international standards of the triple room.

Day 1 :   ROME – NAPLES – POMPEII – SORRENTO (280km – 3.5 hrs)

Meet your tour leader at the Destination Italia Sightseeing office on Viale Dei Bastioni Di Michelangelo 21, Rome at 07:30 am, and the begin your adventure by departing to Naples (we kindly ask you to arrive at the mentioned meeting point at least 15 minutes earlier). Upon arrival, our tour leader will take us for a walking tour of the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I and the San Carlo Opera House. Upon leaving the city, continue to Pompeii. After lunch in a typical restaurant with Neapolitan specialities (included), visit a coral and cameo factory where we will have the opportunity to admire and purchase items made with a technique dating back to the Greek times. Followed the visit of Pompeii excavations of this ancient Roman city that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. This archaeological journey through the ancient city will give you the opportunity to better understand Roman used to live at that time. Proceed to Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi coast. Have dinner after checking in and spend the night in the hotel.

Day 2 :  SORRENTO – CAPRI – ROME (30 min by ferry + 280km – 3.5 hrs by road)

After an American buffet breakfast at the hotel, depart at 7:30 am to the island of Capri. To get there, you will board a ferry and arrive in the Marina Grande. Once on the island, visit the Blue Grotto (weather permitting) and make a stop at the famous Piazzeta. A minibus will then take you up to Anacapri, where you’ll have lunch (included). Afterwards, return to the Marina Grande to board the ferry back to Sorrento. Upon hitting the mainland, depart for Pompeii, where you will join the bus back to Rome. At around 09:00 pm, you will be dropped off at Viale Washington, or Viale Luigi Einaudi, or Termini Station Area, or Via Ludovisi. From here you may continue with your travel arrangements.
