Start your tour with a pickup from your centrally located El Calafate hotel.

After roughly 30 minutes, arrive at the ancient caves on the shores of Lake Argentino. Follow the trail to gaze at the old rock paintings as you learn from a local guide the history behind them. Next, drive back to El Calafate for a panoramic sightseeing tour. Go past the early 20th-century buildings and homes built by the first settlers, the main plaza, church and other landmarks. Afterward, continue to Laguna Nimez, a beautiful nearby reserve. Take the coastal walk and use the supplied binoculars to spot flamingos, swans and other birds on its waters. Finish at the Historical Interpretation Center, an informative museum about the area’s history, wildlife and geology. At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel
