Rome in One Day: Vatican & Colosseum Skip the Line

. No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Vatican Museums. Home to 54 different galleries and some of the most famous works of art in the world from Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Raphael and Giotto. The 54th gallery of the Vatican Museums is the famed Sistine Chapel. See some of the most famous frescoes in the world, including the famous ceiling and The Last Judgement by Michelangelo. The Sistine Chapel is also still used for religious purposes such as the Papal conclave, the process through which a new Pope is chosen. A popular pilgrimage site, St Peter’s Basilica is also one of the largest churches in the world and a shining example of Renaissance architecture. Break for lunch and enjoy a delicious 3-course meal in a traditional local restaurant. For those that have not included lunch in their ticket, please meet at the agreed meeting point and time (your guide will confirm) ready to visit the Colosseum Area. At the Colosseum, learn about architecture and history of this massive amphitheater which hosted ancient Romans, Senators, Emperors and Gladiators as well as animals from all over the world. You’ll also visit the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.

For the Colosseum (2:30 PM) please meet by the Arch of Constantine (Piazza dell’Arco di Costantino) 30 minutes before the start of your tour (please look for the pink flag with the I Love Rome logo carried by our staff).
