Join this eight-day TUI Tour to discover the Madeira Island. Marvel at beautiful Jardem da Serra and taste Madeira’s national drink, Poncha. From East to West coast, you will walk through its landscapes and learn about history and taste typical products. Get deeper into the island, and visit a local village and learn about their traditions. Explore Funchal, admire the old town and get lost in the farmer’s market.

Cabo Girão: a rugged headland that offers a vertiginous view of the fajãs of Rancho and Cabo Girão as well as magnificent panoramic views over the ocean and the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.
Porto Moniz: is a charming little town that is perched on the dramatic north western tip of Madeira, a region comprised of towering mountains and views over endless deep blues of the Atlantic Ocean.
Jardim da Serra: get acquainted with the hotel’s history and its bio-project, while enjoying a walk through the beautiful gardens and forest of the hotel and its surroundings.
Funchal: the capital of the Madeira archipelago, a cosmopolitan and rejuvenated city, well known for its many top class restaurants and hotels, warm all year round climate and incomparable natural beauty.
Village Camara de Lobos: literally meaning ‘den of wolves’, is the famous fishing village that Sir Winston Churchill visited and painted.

Day 1 : ARRIVAL MADEIRA – JARDIM DA SERRA (30km – 30min)
Upon landing at Cristiano Ronaldo Madeira International Airport, make your own way to the arrivals hall where the driver will meet you. You will then be transferred to your hotel. Settle in your room before enjoying dinner the hotel.
Overnight in Jardim da Serra.
Day 2 : JARDIM DA SERRA – WEST COAST – JARDIM DA SERRA (150km – 3hr)
Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, before departure for a full-day tour along the West Coast. Leaving the hotel the first stop will be at Cabo Girão the second highest sea cliff in the world. From this viewpoint, we will turn inland, travel up through a lush valley region to the mountains pass of Encumeada, and descend to S. Vicente, in the north coast. Driving along the coast, we follow to Seixal, for an exclusive experience with a wine producer and his family. After a wine tasting you will have a Madeiran lunch with this family at their own house (included). Afterwards you will continue to Porto Moniz, famed for its volcanic rock swimming pools. Return to the hotel in the afternoon, via plateau Paul da Serra. In the evening, wrap the day up with dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 : JARDIM DA SERRA
Have a tasty breakfast at the hotel and prepare yourself for a half-day walking tour through Jardim da Serra (approx. 3km). Join the guided walk through the beautiful gardens and forest of the hotel and its surroundings. We invite you also this morning to a local bar to watch the preparation of Madeira’s national drink: Poncha, and of course, to taste it (included). The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax and unwind. In the evening, have dinner at the hotel.

Day 4 : JARDIM DA SERRA – FUNCHAL (20km – 4hr)
Charge your batteries with breakfast at the hotel and get ready for another exiting day in Madeira. Today, enjoy a Levadas half-day walking tour and a visit to Village Camara de Lobos (approx. 20km). One of the best ways to see the interior of the island and to know Madeira a little better is to walk by one of the footpaths alongside the unique and complex irrigation system ‘Levadas’. These channels have dug into the mountainside to carry water from high up mountains, down to fields and villages below. Depart the hotel towards begin of the walking path. Enjoy this walk for 2 hours. Afterwards, you will go to Camara de Lobos. In the early afternoon, you will be transferred to the hotel, for check-in and a well-deserved rest.

Day 5 : FUNCHAL – EAST COAST (150km – 3hr)
Early morning, have a tasty breakfast at the hotel and hop on the bus for a full-day tour along the East Coast. Leaving Funchal the first stop will be at Pico do Arieiro, one of the highest peaks with astonishing views over the Island. You will continue to Ribeiro Frio to see the trout hatchery surrounded by a beautiful garden, rare trees and endemic plants of the Island. At Santana, you will have the opportunity to see the typical houses of the region. Afterwards you will continue to Porto da Cruz and Machico, where the Discoveries first landed, before returning to Funchal in the afternoon.

Day 6 : FUNCHAL (15km – 1hr)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and depart for a half-day Funchal city tour. You will start strolling the old part of the town, admiring the doors painted by local artists. Shortly after, you will visit the farmer’s market with an incredible display of flowers, vegetables, fruits and fish. In the market, you will have also the opportunity to see how to cook the typical bread of the Island: bolo do caco. Visitors are welcome to put their hands in the dough if they wish! In the end, you will get your own bread with garlic butter and soft drink (included). After visiting the church and convent Santa Clara, built in the 17th century where you will admire the choirs and cloister, with a beautiful panorama of the interior of the church, you will go to the oldest wine cellar in town, the old Blandy’s wine lodges, to taste the world famous Madeira Wine (included). In the early afternoon, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 7 : FUNCHAL
Indulge in a delicious breakfast at the hotel and plan you day ahead, as today is at your own leisure. You can relax by taking advantage of the amenities of the hotel, or either visit the city at your own pace.

Day 8 : FUNCHAL – DEPARTURE MADEIRA (30km – 30min)
Wake up to one last breakfast at the hotel. Depending on the flight schedule, pick-up and transfer to the airport to your onward destination.
