Pico Island: the second largest island of the Azores archipelago, boasting an incredible variety of landscapes, all dominated by the colossal Pico Alto, the highest peak in Portugal.

- Day 4: Please note that São Gonçalo Convent closes on Saturdays, Sunday mornings and during public holidays. The Cathedral closes on Saturdays and Sundays. The visits are conditioned by the religious services
- Day 6: The boat for the whale & dolphin watching tour will depend on supplier’s availability. This activity is a regular tour, shared with other visitors
- Itinerary will be adapted according to the flights confirmation, it might be needed to change the daily program to maintain the advertised program

Day 1 : ARRIVAL SÃO MIGUEL ISLAND – PONTA DELGADA (5 Km – 20 Min)
Upon landing at Ponta Delgada-João Paulo II Airport, make your own way to the arrivals hall where a representative will meet you. Hop on the shared transfer to the hotel, for check-in. In the afternoon, join the group for a welcome meeting with the tour escort.

Day 2 : PONTA DELGADA – FAJÃ DE BAIXO – SETE CIDADES – PICO DO CARVÃO – PONTA DELGADA (35 Km – 1 Hr)
Wake up to breakfast at the hotel followed by a Pineapple Plantations and Sete Cidades Crater half-day tour. Departure from the hotel to Fajã de Baixo to stop at the pineapple plantations. You will continue to Vista do Rei viewpoint in Sete Cidades Mountains, where you can observe the magnificent crater and the twin lakes, famous for its colors, blue and green, reflecting the sky and the surrounding vegetation. Start to go inside the crater, visit Santiago viewpoint, a secondary lake, and visit the village center, where you will have some free time for snack or coffee (not included). Return to Ponta Delgada with stop at Pico do Carvão belvedere where you can get great panoramic view is São Miguel Island. Return to the hotel in the early afternoon; and time for lunch (not included), relax and unwind.

Day 3 : PONTA DELGADA, SÃO MIGUEL ISLAND – ANGRA DO HEROISMO, TERCEIRA ISLAND (40 min by flight)
Have an early breakfast at the hotel and hop on the transfer back to Ponta Delgada-João Paulo II Airport, to get on the flight to Terceira Island (included inter island-flight SP480 07:30-08:10). The included flights will be booked by our team immediately after the tour confirmation. Upon landing at Lajes Airport, a driver will be meet and transfer you to the hotel, for check-in and lunch (not included). At around 02:00 pm, get ready for a half-day Biscoitos and Praia da Vitoria tour. On the way to Praia da Vitória (short walk), pass by Monte Brasil, São Sebastião and Porto Martins. The tour follows to Serra do Cume, 545 meters and panoramic view of the beach and bay. Next stop will be Caldeira de Guilherme Moniz, a crater with 15 km of perimeter and the widest in the Azores. Passage through the region of lava and cattle breeding. Next stop will be in the Algar do Carvão (optional visit, not included) considered a geological natural reserve, Furnas do Sul, followed by Biscoitos with a visit to the Wine Museum and the bathing area. You will return to the hotel in the afternoon, for a well-deserved rest. Please note that October 5th (Monday) is a bank holiday, therefore, the shops might be closed or some locations can be overcrowded.

Day 4 : ANGRA DO HEROISMO
Charge your batteries with a tasty breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an Angra do Heroismo half-day walking tour. Leaving on foot from your hotel you will be guided by some of the places of more interest such as São Gonçalo Convent, the Cathedral, the Public Garden and City Hall. (Please note that São Gonçalo Convent closes on Saturdays, Sunday mornings and during public holidays. The Cathedral closes on Saturdays and Sundays. The visits are conditioned by the religious services). Return to the hotel in the early afternoon, for lunch (not included), and rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5 : ANGRA DO HEROISMO, TERCEIRA ISLAND – MADALENA, PICO ISLAND (35 min by flight)
Have an early breakfast at the hotel and be ready for another exciting day. In the afternoon, hop on the transfer back to Laje Airport, to get on the flight to Pico Island (included inter-island flight SP626 16:15-16:50). Upon landing at Pico Airport, a driver will be meet and transfer you to the hotel, for check-in. Enjoy your evening strolling around Madalena Village and find out more about its rural legacy – farming and wine making.

Day 6 : MADALENA, PICO ISLAND – HORTA, FAIAL ISLAND (30 min by ferry)
Indulge in a delicious breakfast at the before beginning today´s adventure, Whale & Dolphin Watching in Pico. Early morning check in for once in a life time experience. After briefing you will go out on the ocean for about 3 hours to spot some cetacean species present in Azores, one of the best destinations in the world for whale and dolphin watching. Returned from sea, is time to pack and head to Faial Island. Hop on the ferry and enjoy the guided trip (included one-way ferry ticket Pico Island – Faial Island). Upon arrival at the port, a driver will be meet and transfer you to the hotel, for check-in and lunch (not included). The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 7 : HORTA, FAIAL ISLAND
Enjoy a tasty breakfast at the hotel and depart to Capelinhos for a half-day tour to see the consequences of one of the latest volcanic eruptions in the Azores, which left behind a moon-like surface. Visit to the Interpretative Centre. Continue along the north coast towards Caldeira to enjoy the spectacular view of the inside of a crater 400m deep and 2km wide. Drive along the fields of hydrangeas (bloom in early summer) overlooking the Flamengos Valley, the first Flemish settlement of Faial and stop at Espalamaca with view over the city of Horta and the islands of Pico, São Jorge and Graciosa (at clear days). In the early afternoon, free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, join the Horta walking tour, famous for its cosmopolitan marina, which is the encountering point of the yachts sailing from all over the world, in their transatlantic voyages. Stroll around the city visiting the Horta Museum which includes a collection of fig pith artwork, Promenade and the Horta Marina with its colorful paintings. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 8 : HORTA, FAIAL ISLAND – PONTA DELGADA, SÃO MIGUEL ISLAND (50 min by flight)
Wake up to breakfast at the hotel and hop on the transfer to Horta Airport, to get on the flight to São Miguel Island (included inter-island flight SP571 Departure: 12:50-13:40). The included flights will be booked by our team immediately after the tour confirmation. Upon arrival at Ponta Delgada-João Paulo II Airport, a driver will be meet and transfer you to the hotel, for check-in.

Day 9 : PONTA DELGADA, SÃO MIGUEL ISLAND
Have a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, as this day is at your own pace. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant (included).

Wake up to one last breakfast at the hotel before enjoying some free time for you to spend at leisure before the unescorted transfer back to Ponta Delgada-João Paulo II Airport, where you’ll catch your onward flight to your following destination (At least 2 hours before flight schedule).
