Originally called the Millennium Wheel, the London Eye was inaugurated on December 31, 1999, to celebrate the new millennium. Since then, it has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in London, attracting over 3.75 million visitors annually.

The London Eye is located on the South Bank of the river Thames, just across from the Houses of Parliament and near other fantastic London Tourist hotspots. You can easily find the ticket office inside County Hall, which is the building right next to the London Eye.

By Bus

Bus number 211, 77, and 381 arrives you at the London Eye. The London Eye is on most London sightseeing bus tours and on the RV1 route that links the London Eye to other popular attractions including the Tate Modern, Covent Garden and lots more in London.

London Eye is located within walking distance from Waterloo, Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster underground (tube) station. Waterloo is the nearest station.

It is highly recommended to find your parking space online before visiting the London Eye. Please note that the London Eye is located within the Congestion Charge Zone. Please make sure that you have paid the Congestion Charge.

You can reach the London Eye via the river. There are a number of service stops at the London Pier. These include Bankside, Embankment, Blackfriars, London Bridge, Tower, Canary Wharf, Hilton Docklands, Masthouse Terrace, Greenwich and lots more.

Your visit day: what to expect

To board the London Eye, follow these simple steps:

  1. Check your ticket to see which queue you should join.
  2. Enter the queue through the pink tent at the front of the London Eye.
  3. A host will guide you to either the Standard or Fast Track queue line.

If you have VIP Experience tickets, you will be accompanied by a host and have Fast Track entry. Collect your tickets at the VIP Experiences desk in the ticket office and wait for your host to take you to the London Eye.

It usually takes around 30 minutes to complete one rotation on the London Eye.

Of course! There is actually a nice bench located in the center of the pod for you to sit and enjoy the view. However, seating is available on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to grab a spot as soon as you can!

We want to make sure all of our guests have a great experience, so currently operating the pods at a limited capacity. This way, everyone can feel safe while enjoying the amazing 360 degree views that the attraction has to offer.

We understand that queuing can be frustrating, so we want to give you an idea of what to expect (Average). For Standard ticket holders, we ask that you anticipate a queue time of around 45 minutes. If you have a Fast Track ticket, your queue time should be shorter, around 10 minutes. However, please keep in mind that these times may be longer during peak periods. We appreciate your patience and hope you enjoy your visit!

Absolutely! We want to make sure you and your little ones have a great experience at the London Eye. You are welcome to bring a pushchair/buggy with you onto one of the pods. Just make sure it’s fully closed or folded before joining the boarding queue, and keep it closed throughout the experience, including at the entrance and exit ramps. Feel free to open it once you’re out of the attraction.

Alternatively, we understand that carrying a pushchair/buggy around London can be tiring. That’s why we offer free left luggage facilities in the London Eye Ticket Office. You can leave your pushchair/buggy there and pick it up later. Just make sure to collect it by 7pm so you don’t miss out on a hassle-free experience.

London Eye Facilities

Absolutely! The pods are designed to be completely enclosed and climate controlled, ensuring that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience no matter what the weather is like outside.

We’re excited to let you know that London Eye provides Wi-Fi to all our guests via o2. You can access the Wi-Fi inside all 32 pods on the London Eye. Don’t hesitate to connect and share your experience with your friends and family!

We’re happy to let you know that toilet facilities are available at the London Eye Ticket Office. There are separate facilities for men and women, as well as accessible toilets. And for those with babies, we also have baby change facilities.

However, we’d like to let you know that there are no toilet facilities on board the London Eye itself.

Unfortunately, There is no lockers available onsite at the moment. However, there is a Left Luggage facility nearby at Charing Cross Station, which you can use to store your belongings.
