The valley is famous for the production of Apple and Kiwi fruits and there are many stunning churches and castles situated in strategic points on the hillsides. At Bolzano we turn off into the breath-taking Val d’Ega which was carved by melting mountain snows over millions of years. We arrive at our first stop at Lago di Carezza, a small verdant mountain lake with the back drop of the Latemar mountain range. This lake is renowned for its high phosphorous content giving it the waters an aquamarine colour. After a short break we continue through this valley arriving at the Costalunga pass which takes us over into the neighbouring Val di Fassa. As we make our way down to the valley floor we pass by traditional mountain villages, with wooden houses and barns, pastures of grass and wildflowers. Val di Fassa is at the heart of the Dolomite mountain range and from the village of Canazei the coach will start to climb up to the height of over 2000m where we will finish at the Pordoi pass cable car. As the bus follows the natural mountain terrain, each turn of the road offers and ever-expanding view of the valley below and the mountains around. Your guide will escort you on the cable car and arriving the top we can combine stunning views with dishes of the area (lunch not included). Taking the cable car back down you can see the monument to the cyclists of the Giro d’Italia or walk to the little mountain church before the coach departs back down the mountain. Travelling down the Val di Fassa for a short while this then joins the Val di Fiemme. En-route we will make a short stop at a little widening of the river near Moena to give an excellent photo opportunity back up the valley. Before leaving the Dolomite area we will make a final stop to say farewell we then re-join the Adige valley. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel.
