Best Things to watch

Best Things to watch

Park Güell is one of the first things that comes to mind when we think about Gaudi’s work. Park Güell was built on Carmel Hill in Barcelona from 1900 to 1914 at the request of Eusebi Güell, Gaud’s patron, and it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. The park is filled with Gaudi’s brilliant imagination based on his naturalist outlook, as well as Gaudi’s and his patron, Count Güell’s political and religious beliefs. Taking a walking trip to uncover these outstanding and creatively made artwork may provide you with a whole new level of inspiration.

Gaudi’s colourful mosaic salamander made from broken ceramic pieces, known as the Trencadis technique, can be found near the main entrance.

A long sea serpent bench constructed using Trencadis method may also be found on the main terrace. It is beautifully ornamented with colourful ceramics and ergonomically effective, with a social gathering ambiance provided by its round form. The holes in the centre of the bench were designed to allow rainwater to flow down and be reused.
